H.Why did the taishokoto become so popular?
Young people were longing for European culture and it was present in Taisho-democracy. (#26.)Playing taishokoto was the symbol of currency. It was similar to the younger wanting to play folk-guitar from the middle of 1960’s to beginning of 1970’s in Japan. Singing folksongs with guitars were very popular during these years.

The Government of Taisho era pushed ahead western music with Japanese lyrics. Playing these songs with taishokoto was very suitable. Thanks to these social occurrences, taishokoto became very popular. There were demands for factories to improve old models to new ones. For example, adding strings from 2 to more and adopting wound strings have made sounds better. (#27.〜29.)These requested improvements by taishokoto lovers have increased the supply and demand of the taishokoto.
